Actor's InformationThis year, the Washington Renaissance Fantasy Faire will run three weekends, August 2nd, 3rd, 9th, 10th, 16th and 17th. Off-season Workshops for February and March have been posted on the Actor's Schedule and Check-In Information page, along with information about costume approval, what you need to do when you arrive at the Faire Site, and while you are working at the Faire. The Moral and Legal Guidelines address appropriate behavior while on the Faire Site. The Questions and Answers section is a series of commonly asked questions and their answers, also known as a FAQ. Please be aware that we have changed a few things this year. To be a Volunteer Actor for the 2003 Washington Renaissance Fantasy Faire, one will need to fill out the application on this site, sign a Hold Harmless agreement, and send in their membership fee. We have elected to have a flat fee for our Volunteer Actors this year, commonly known as a “site fee”. Most major Renaissance Faires have site fees for their actors, to offset the costs of site amenities, and so forth. Our membership fee specifically offsets the out of pocket costs of the Performing Arts Department Administration for such things as children’s’ favors, workshop materials, class materials, space rentals for classes/workshops, printing, Volunteer’s Favors and other activities. All of the money from membership fees directly fund the Performing Arts Department, and are not used for other Faire activities, so you can feel certain that the money you are contributing is going right back into things that directly affect you, and make Faire that much more enjoyable and interesting. Also, the silver lining to the fee is that it would cost you more to camp for those three weekends, and having a membership eliminates the need to pay for gate and camping costs for all three weekends. Having a membership essentially means that you are a part of the Performing Arts Department of the WRFF. Paid acts, vendors, and other Faire departments are not part of this; this is purely for our Volunteer Actors. After you have filled out the form, and been accepted into a Guild, you will need to send us your $20 membership fee, along with your name, Guild, and telephone number. Please send us your legal name! We will accept checks and money orders with pleasure, but be aware that if your check bounces, you will be charged an extra $30 to cover our bank fees. We would seriously prefer that you do not send cash. Membership Fees can be made out to “WRFF Performing Arts Department”, and sent to the following address: WRFF P.A.D., PO Box 8655, Port Orchard, WA 98366-0899. You may also wish to join our mailing list if you have any questions that you would like to address to the entire group of actors.
